Nike - Air Max 97 'Summer Scales' (Summit White | White)
On the heels of a successful run with the Air Max 95, Nike was once again looking to evolve their Air technology into something even better. 1997 marked the creation of what was originally going to be called the Nike Air Max total 3, but the powers that be instead went with naming the silhouette after its birth year. The Air Max 97 was designed by Christian Tresser and was the first Nike Air silhouette to adapt a full Air sole unit running the entire length of the sole. Designed specifically for runners, the AM 97 also sported 3M stripes on the upper, helping the runner’s visibility in the dark. Just in time for summer, the Air Max 97 gets hit with a clean snake skin in summit white.
